Are there any new products to fill gaps in a woodworking project?
I've glued two pieces of wood together after carving it as well as I could to match them up, but there are a couple of gaps I'd like to fill. The trick is I plan to stain the wood and want everything to match?
I understand there's putty, but does that harden well enough to be sanded?
I use a mix of Elmer's glue and saw dust from the original wood. That way it'll take the stain and be almost invisible. You might want to add a few drops of stain into the mix just in case. I make custom jewelry boxes.
