Tool Set Domestic
Ex Army Electrician, Should i start my own business? or what?
I have 'C' Cert, Part 2&3, And 2391, And looking to do 2381-20.
But what i am wondering is:
I have little or no experience in 'Proper' Domestic sparkying.
Sure i can fix up aging decaying Portacabins to death, wire up and run generators. But have no actual domestic electrical experience, IE wiring of houses, and plastering etc... But could learn.
I am wondering should i take the risk set up alone, i am in the process of leaving the forces, and have enough for a van and tools (£30,000 or so)...
Or should i find employment with a firm? If so What are they looking for and how much can i expect to earn?
PS (I will have Air Con and Refridgeration too at the end of next month).
Maybe it would be best to invest your money for a year while you work under another electrician that specializes in domestic wiring. If you still want to start your business then, start looking at business plans and where your money needs to go first.
Also look for on-line forums that can help support you with your business. They will give you all sorts of ideas from marketing to actually giving you samples of business plans if you ask nicely. Don't forget to use the internet and a properly designed website to get started!
