Steel Nail Clipper

Puppy Supplies - What am I forgetting . . . . . ?
We mailed our $100 deposit today for our redbone coonhound! : )
So - been visiting the feed store and pet stores; what can you guys suggest besides what I'm getting below?
* Leather buckle collar
* Leather 4 ft. leash
* ID tag
* 2 stainless steel dishes with rubber ring on bottom lip to prevent skidding
* Crate and bedding, preferably a shirt/blanket from his first home and a shirt with my smell on it, to make him more comfortable
* Soft rope that can be soaked and frozen for teething and puppy Kong
* Nature's Miracle
* Nail Clipper, brush (will forgo commercial ear cleaner for mineral oil at home)
Thanks, everyone!
Shampoo! Yup, I forgot that - thank you!
Rogue - I'm going to feed a raw diet. This 'our' first dog, and I'm going to practice what I preach : ) But I agree, if I were feeding kibble I would go with a grain-free food like TOTW or something comparable.
It sounds like you've got the puppy stuff organised - I can only suggest other things:
*A freezer with plenty of space
*Tom Lonsdale's book "Work Wonders - feed your dog raw meaty bones."
*a meat cleaver for chopping up those chickens etc
*a good supply of zip-lock plastic bags or take-out food containers if you are going to pre-prepare meals. I often buy up big and then bag each day's worth of food and freeze.
*some scales - these are really useful while you are still learning and weighing the food out each day (2-3% of ideal adult weight per day)
*vinegar in a spray bottle for cleaning your benches and old nappies or tea-towels for drying them off.
*Don't forget some bitter spray in case of chewing the lounge chair or the door frames!!
I'd also send a towel or blanket to his breeders so that it can come back with him and be familiar - possibly a chew toy as well.
