Steel Fishing Pliers
fishing tackle problem ,?
I have been making a sliding weight steel line 15lb then fix to hook , by pressing metal clasp not sure off name line goes through centre and pliers applied to make it hold , ,but have found when hauling in large fish hook is pulling loose from metal clasp , , also attaching a hook in middle of line . like a fl-yer to catch top feeding fish , ,but clasp when pressed is flat and sharp so cuts the line when catching a large fish ,,hope this make sense and some body can give advice thks
l believe you are referring to wire leader "sleeves". make sure you are using the correct size sleeve for your wire and are also using the correct sleeve crimping tool.
if your hook is still pulling out, which it shouldn't, then simply tie an overhand knot around the eye of the hook prior to inserting the tag end into your sleeve. the ring or swivel at the other end also.
sleeves come in both "double" and "single" barrel models. with 15lb wire, you should be having no problems with the single.
just make sure of the size.
