How to get rid of fruit flies?
Somehow there has been a mini infestation of fruit flies in our kitchen, I swear theres about 50 of them! I haven't been able to go to the store to get anything because I'm ill. However I've improvised with what we do have.
I've thrown away anything that may have been attracted them and taken out the trash. Then I set up a few traps- one with a beer bottle and funnel with sugar. Then another with a plastic disposable cup, cheap red wine, sugar, clingfilm on top with holes in it.
This seems to be luring them in already.
I didnt have any fly paper so i pulled off some paper from a lint roller, sprinkled it with sugar and stuck it on the cupboard nearest the wine trap.
Is there anything else i can be doing to get rid of them asap?

The flies live for about 6 days. You have the right stuff for catching the adults. They must be laying eggs some where. Fruit flies love refrigerators. There might be some moisture under it. If they are hovering over the drain, some baking soda and vinegar down the drain will kill the eggs. Or some bleach down the drain. Where ever they are hovering will be where they are laying eggs.
