Pipe Cutter Plumbing

How do I cut into a old cast iron sewage pipe that is about 3 feet underground?
For whatever reason the mainline cleanout is in the crawlspace of a raised foundation home and has a 90 degree angle at the opening. The causes issues whenever we have a plumber come out. The latest one wants $700 to install a ground level cleanout where the pipe comes out the front of the house.
I'm no stranger to plumbing, but I have never dealt with sewage lines, let alone cast iron. This section has been underground I'm sure between 30 and 50 years (the house was built in 1952 with a septic tank) and I've heard that old cast iron underground may have issues when I go to cut it. The last thing I want to do is put a chain cutter on and have it collapse the line.
Is this a valid concern? Is there a better way to install the mainline cleanout? Am I better off drilling a 4" hole in my foundation and cutting off the existing cleanout to put it outside the back of the house?
as much advice as i could give you i'll answer the question main question simply and hope it is chosen........the most gentle way to cut into cast pipe is a '
'METABO'....a small angle grinder ,,,,,,with a 4"diamond blade.....this becomes a very versatile tool.....it'll cut through solid steel.....i use it alot on masonry also (chimney flashing ) and foundation work.......nice tool to have around and not very expensive......gotta keep the blade out of the tar and choose another method to cut wood........the blade won't dull otherwise.......................rotsa ruck................lee
