Removed air box, cold air intake IN, but remaining tube is left unfiltered?
I have a 92 volvo 940gl non turbo and I recently took off the airbox and replaced it with a round filter. BUT there is another tube that was plugged up to the airbox that is now left unfiltered..
My guess is that its the crankcase vent.
Can I add another pipe behind the air intake and splice the crankcase vent into it or should I just purchase a mini filter for it? Thanks.
Hook that tube up if your mechanic or a emissions attendant notices it you could be in trouble and have to pay a fine. That's part of the egr system. find a way to vent it into the intake sounds like an illegal modification unless this car is used strictly off road you need this hooked up. your car may start running poorly and your computer may start giving codes and false readings. K&N probably makes a filter that fits that cars air box.
here is a link to a high flow air filter made specifically for that car its a better idea to keep it stock.
