Heavy Duty Woodworking

using lattice to build a computer case?
I am good with wood/woodworking and would like to build my own case for my custom machine. i would like a second opinion on this before i buy my materials though. I was thinking of using lattice since you can see lights coming through it and you dont have to worry as much about overheating. wood would be an easier material to work with but would plastic lattice be better? do you think a case made out of 1inch heavy duty lattice would be too flimsy/weak? thanks for the opinions!
If you build a frame to attach the lattice to, I think it would work fine. You could try using 1x1s for your frame. That may end up giving you a bulky case. Also think about how your going to ground to components.
You could also think about using a metal frame with a motherboard tray. Then you could just cover the case with lattice. That may be your best option. There are a lot of cheap cases you to start with. I hope this helps!
