pinto engine will not start?
good battery turns over quickly, changed the coil and still have a weak spark at the plugs (barely visible) fuel at the carb, no moisture anywhere, points set at 10 thou ? all plugs clean.
pulled the lead off the middle of the distributor turned the engine and held the bare lead aginst metal and the spark was poor DONT KNOW IF THIS IS RIGHT OR WRONG BUT WHEN THE IGNITION IS ON, THE CENTRE SHAFT WHERE THE ROTAR ARM SITS IS MAGNETISED AND MY FEELER GAUGE WILL STICK TO IT
That's too thin on the points, set them closer to .028". Make sure the little braided wire inside the distributor and by the points is connected at both ends to ensure a good ground for the points. Change the condenser, they short out sometimes and you cannot tell. Make sure the coil wire has less than 10,000 ohms resistance.
