how to remove caliper pins on a 2005 acura tsx (pics)?

I'm having trouble removing the caliper pins on my acura. I was wondering what's the deal with the washer located on the other side of the nut behind the metal housing, before the plastic hose. Am I supposed to loosen that before the outside bolt, whats that about?
Looks like a 14mm bolt head and on the other side is a 14mm head as well.
Get a 14mm socket wrench on the head and an open 14mm on the other side to keep things from just spinning.
Once u get the head off, things will just pull out.
