how to uninstall norton internet security 2006 from my computer?
I am unable to use it as when I try to start it up nothing happens , there is no error message and the program does not start up. I suspect that it is blocking my communication ports , so I am unable to get Yahoo messenger to work , Mozilla firefox to work . My problem is I am trying to get rid of Norton Internet security 2006 off my computer.Here is what I have tried, 1. The windows add/remove program does not work , the program freezes up and I have to use Ctrl-Alt-del to shut it down.2. I have tried to manually deleting the software from C:Program files , I am unable to as it says that some program is in use. To tackle this I have manually disabled all programs through the msconfig startup option, restarted and tried deleting again , No Go .3. I have tried the Symantedc removal tool available on the Symantec website and as suggested by many discussion forums. That program starts up but I do not see it working.4. I have tried to delete some registry keys in regedit
Try deleting the file manually in safe mode.
