Help with magnets positive and negatives?
I have a set of rare earth magnets! Obviously one side makes them join together, and the other makes them repel. My problem is that i dont know which is the positive and negative side because they both look the same.
I need to place them all the same way in a piece of wood, and then use a magnetic strip in another material so they join together. I do not have the magnetic tape yet though so i cant test it with that.
The magnets will attract a piece of metal on both sides of the magnet, so i am unsure how to tell positive from negative?
Do i need a magnet which has a clear positive and negative on to test it e.g. one of those big U shaped magnets?
